Yes, there are early season prices on general admission tickets. Purchase your tickets before 31st January 2018 to benefit from the best value ticket prices.
Additionally, there are reduced prices for spectators who are between 16-24 years of age on 14th July 2018 (‘Youth Tickets’). The Open also operates a 'Kids Go Free' policy which allows children under 16 years of age on 14th July 2018 admission free of charge on all Practice and Championship days.
Yes. The R&A welcomes ticket requests from individuals and charities who wish to raise funds for good causes, and as such donates a set number of tickets to The Open each year which can be used as auction or raffle items for this purpose. However, please note that due to the high number of requests that The R&A receives each year, we cannot accommodate all requests. Requests for tickets can be made via the Charity Ticket Request Form here
We would always advise that you purchase tickets for The Open via www.theopen.com/tickets as tickets sold on this site are 100% official. Unfortunately, we have experienced situations in the past where tickets purchased from other websites turn out to be fraudulent and therefore invalid, and spectators have had to purchase valid tickets on arrival to enter the course.
Tickets can be returned / refunded up to 48 hours of purchase if bought before 14th July 2018. After 48 hours have passed (or if purchased after 14th July 2018), tickets cannot be returned or refunded.
Tickets can be exchanged for a different day up to 48 hours after purchase if bought before 14th July 2018. After 48 hours have passed (or if purchased after 14th July 2018), tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for a different day.
The Open cannot guarantee that there will be tickets available to purchase on any given day of the Championship. To guarantee your tickets, and to take advantage of early season prices, we would encourage you to purchase your tickets in advance at www.theopen.com/tickets
A general admission ticket provides access to the course. There will be thousands of public grandstand seats located around the course including at the 18th Green and at the Practice Ground, all free of charge to spectators. These are available on a first come, first come served basis. You can also make the most of your day by visiting the Spectator Village and the Practice Ground.
Children under 16 years of age on 14th July 2018 cannot attend The Open unless accompanied by a responsible adult who holds a valid course admission ticket (Adult or Youth). Children under 16 years of age on the above date are eligible for ‘Kids Go Free’ Junior tickets which are available either on a pre-booked basis or at the paygate. Please see terms and conditions for further details.
Yes, a bicycle park will be located within one of the official car parks. Please check TheOpen.com for further details closer to the event. Please note that bicycles are not allowed into the Championship and are left at the bicycle park at the owner’s risk.
Personal cameras are permitted at The Open but no still photography of play is permitted on Championship days. Filming of play is not permitted at any time. No professional cameras and/or video cameras or any photographic equipment used for commercial purposes will be permitted at The Open.
